FAQ

Is SmartMov a Bank?

No. SmartMov does not store your money. Using your existing accounts, SmartMov will facilitate the movement of your savings between your accounts.

When will my money be transferred into the receiving account?

All transfers utilize ACH transfers. We can’t guarantee when transfers will be made, but, generally, you can expect your money to arrive in 1-3 business days. If you initiate a transfer during the weekend, expect the transfer to initiate on the next business day. For example, if you do a SmartMov on the Saturday before Memorial Day, expect your transfer to initiate on the Tuesday following Memorial Day. You could expect the money in your deposit account as early as Wednesday and it shouldn’t arrive later than Friday. If you experience any issues with a transfer, please contact us.

Can I trust SmartMov with my bank account information?

We will never store your bank account information. Please read our privacy agreement and blog posts for more information about the importance of security to us.

Are there any fees?

No. SmartMov is a FREE service.

Does SmartMov pay interest?

We are not a bank and will not store your money. We believe that our services will allow you to utilize the best paying deposit accounts. We have found federally insured banks and credit unions paying better that 3% APY. Most traditional banks are paying less than 0.04% APY.

Is SmartMov federally insured?

We are not storing your money. We help to facilitate the movement of your money. Your account type will determine if the money in that account is federally insured with either FDIC or NCUA. Savings and checking accounts insured by either FDIC or NCUA will be insured up to $250,000. Other account types like money market and investment accounts are not insured by FDIC or NCUA.
